WiFi, Security Cameras & IT for Campgrounds and RV Parks in Ohio

Guests want WiFi that works at the site. Owners want to see the gate at 2 a.m. Both are solvable.

A campground is forty acres of trees, metal RVs and buildings that were never wired for a network. Guests expect WiFi at their site, the office needs the reservation system online all summer, and the owner wants cameras on the gate, the bathhouse and the camp store that keep recording after the season closes.

Balzer Computer Consulting designs and installs all of that as one system. Outdoor access points cover the loops. Point-to-point wireless links connect the office to bathhouses, pavilions and the far end of the property without trenching a single cable. AI cameras record locally, so they work whether or not the internet is up. And a 3CX phone system follows the owner from the office in July to a cell phone in January.

We are based in New London and serve campgrounds along the Lake Erie shore, through Lorain County and across North Central Ohio.

What usually goes wrong

The problems we get called about

WiFi that dies past the first loop

One router in the office cannot reach a site 600 feet away through trees and aluminum siding. Guests complain, reviews suffer.

Buildings too far apart to cable

Trenching to a bathhouse across a road or a creek costs more than the equipment. Most parks never get it done.

No eyes on the gate after hours

Late arrivals, unpaid entries and off-season break-ins go unseen without cameras that cover the entrance and record reliably.

Seasonal staffing

A full office in July and one person in January. Phones and alerts need to follow whoever is on duty.

How we solve it

What we install for campgrounds & rv parks

Property-wide outdoor WiFi

A site survey maps the property, then weatherproof outdoor access points are placed for real coverage at the sites, not just the office. Guest traffic is separated from the reservation system.

Point-to-point wireless links

Over-the-air links tie the office to bathhouses, pavilions, the camp store and the gate. No trench, no conduit, and each link carries cameras and WiFi together.

AI security cameras with local recording

4K cameras on the gate, store, bathhouses and dump station, recording to an NVR on site. People and vehicle detection means alerts you actually want, and footage keeps recording with the internet off.

A phone system that changes with the season

3CX routes calls to the office in season and to a cell in the off-season on a schedule, with the same number all year.

A typical 120-site campground setup
  • Fiber or cable internet into the office, with a business-grade firewall
  • Six to ten outdoor access points across the loops, guest and staff networks separated
  • Three point-to-point links: office to bathhouse, office to pavilion, office to gate
  • Eight AI cameras: gate in and out, camp store, two bathhouses, dump station, pool, playground
  • One NVR in the office with 60 to 90 days of retention and remote viewing from the owner's phone
  • 3CX phone system with seasonal call routing

Every property is different. This is a typical layout, not a quote.

How the project runs

  1. 1Site walk and survey, including a look at where your internet comes in and how far the buildings sit apart
  2. 2Written design with a coverage map, camera positions and a price
  3. 3Installation scheduled around your season, usually spring or fall
  4. 4Pre-season check every year so the system is ready before Memorial Day
